ARTIST VISION

Mark D. Exon

STAR STRUCK is a celebration of our radiant sun, the distant shimmer of stars, the wandering planets, and the moon. These cosmic bodies have shaped tides, time, myth, and meaning. They’ve guided ancient civilizations and still stir something primal in us today.

My work is born from a deep reverence for the natural world — a quiet awe that begins with the soil beneath our feet and stretches skyward to the stars.

This work is both a gaze outward and a reflection inward — a meditation on our place in the vast, unfolding story of the universe. What does it mean to orbit a star and wonder what lies beyond?

I hope these pieces ignite your imagination as much as they’ve illuminated mine.

ARTIST VISION

Mark D. Exon

Through the drawing process I find a route into a captivating, immersive and calming place.

I hope my work can highlight the beauty and fragility of all creatures and the life giving ecosystems supporting them.

Nature, its interconnected patterns and systems has always fascinated me. As has water and its life giving properties.

This series consists of 17 sea creatures.

To convey the complex beauty I see around me with just a pen and a piece of paper was my objective and the results continue to inspire me and others who experience my work.
